Matthew Hofmann X Living Vehicle: living the nomad life

The world is in crisis, and now is the time to question our lifestyle as well as the places we choose to live in. There’s plenty of reasons why people now want to leave big cities, and we won’t name them all here. But what we do want to talk about are the new housing solutions that allow to conciliate professional life and environmental commitment. Matthew Hofmann dived into this adventure first working on ‘tiny houses’. His ‘living vehicles’ are none other that the continuation of his previous work, with the added value that they can move on their own. Equipped with solar panels and perfectly insulated, these ‘trailers from the future’ can recycle wastewater, produce enough energy to recharge a car’s battery, and generate cool air in case of heatwave. They can also lift themself up to change for crosscountry tires. Equipped with WIFI, home cinema, sound system, a mural vacuum and all inclusive bathroom and kitchen, the ‘living vehicles’ can host up to 6 people at once and in total comfort. But living the luxury nomad life has a price: 230,000 dollars, and a year-long waiting list.
