CLOT X Ralph Lauren : Couture culture

It was legitimate to ask how the American king of preppy and the Hong Kong-based street style rookie could collaborate. Ralph Lauren, as we know, largely gained ground on streetwear these past few years with 90s fashion coming back in style. CLOT, on the other hand, has successfully injected the codes of neo-traditional Chinese culture into a casual wardrobe, so reinterpreting an Oxford shirt might have seemed like a stretch. But by combining these two cultures in the most subtle way, the result is the reinterpretation of the great American classics with a workwear spin, from traditional trimmings to China’s symbolic red. Polos, chambray shirts or hoodies all got a fresh, cultural twist that immediately pleases the eye. Plus, what better ambassador than CLOT’s co-founder himself, Edison Chen?
