Celine X Fondation César : mastering compression

It was at the end of the 1950s that César was seized by one of the greatest ideas of his career: to compress objects that were dear to him in a falsely disorganized manner. In reality, his work is precise to the millimeter. Jewellery loaded with memories, decorative elements that form talisman-like monoliths. Hedi Slimane has been a fan of César’s work for many years, and to support the Fondation César, the designer decided to pay tribute to his admirable legacy by publishing a series of compressed jewels for Celine. Previewed last Winter during the fashion show, the collection is now available in Celine boutiques and on the brand’s website. These powerful and unique mini sculptures are reminiscent of César’s days of glory in the late 1970s – an era that has always inspired Slimane in his designs. The dialogue between the Celine allure and this jewelry design feels completely organic. Available in silver-gilt and silver, the collection is limited to 100 pieces each.
