Aurélien Giraud x Dior, the French Maison has a New Ambassador

Dior has announced a new ambassador: Aurélien Giraud, world skateboarding star. The twenty-six year old athlete, one of the huge favorites to win the gold medal at the next Paris Olympics, has never hidden his great admiration for Kim Jones, designer of the French brand’s men’s line. He will become its face and will appear in the next promotional images. “Bold, creative and spontaneous, the champion will from now on embody the spirit of Dior style, where sportswear, heritage and reinvention converge”, they explain from the maison’s head quarter. Born in Lyon, Giraud (portrayed here by Pierre Emmanuel Testard) has been fascinated by skateboarding since he was a child and dreamed of one day becoming a champion. A dream that came true in 2022 when he won the world title at the World Skateboarding Tour in 2022, while at the Tokyo Olympics he placed “only” sixth. Giraud joins a large group of athletes selected by Dior as its ambassadors ahead of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The list includes the names of the surfer Kauli Vaast, the gymnast Mélanie de Jesus dos Santos and the wheelchair tennis player Pauline Déroulède. By Germano D’Acquisto
