Coco Rocha sits front row at Yohji Yamamoto
Yohji Yamamoto presented his Fall/Winter 2019 collection at the Grand Palais as the sky got dusky outside. Inside, guests of the house arrived to see Coco Rocha perched on high platforms, gamely answering questions from journalists (…who, next to the top model, all looked very small). She wore a long bright red dress with multiple zips by Yohji Yamamoto, which stood out from the crowd mainly dressed in black. On the sidelines, stylists Sascha Lilic and Benjamin Galopin waited for the start of the show, which began with a slow ballad. The draped, deconstructed and restructured silhouettes walked solemnly. Color appeared as an explosion on Yohji Yamamoto’s black canvas, and the designer’s hand seemed almost to still be working on the fabric. Even at 75, he still has new things to say and to show the fashion world.
