Sitting alongside Penélope Cruz and Pedro Almodóvar in Cannes
Could this be the Palme d’Or of the 72nd Cannes Film Festival? With “Pain and Glory,” Pedro Almodóvar made his remarkable comeback in Cannes. The director, who was president of the jury in 2017, has never received an award in Cannes himself. This 2019 edition may be the one that will change that. For this new film, which has a diary feel, Almodóvar called on his favorite actors Antonio Banderas and Penelope Cruz. In the evening, Cruz, sporting a Chanel dress, was on the Terrace by Albane for a dinner (organized by Albane Cleret) in honor of the director. Rossy de Palma and Camélia Jordana took to the stage to surprise Almodóvar himself. Once dinner was over, everyone headed to Le Club by Albane in the company of Jean Dujardin, Tom Leeb, David Foenkinos and Mademoiselle Agnes.
