Cannes 2016, here we go. The only place in France where it did not (too) like it launched the 69th edition of the International Film Festival from its famous palace. Out of competition, the new Woody Allen closed the opening ceremony, led by Laurent Laffite, bringing together a particularly attractive cast. Kristen Stewart, Blake Lively, Jesse Eisenberg and Steve Carell climbed the steps of this first big movie night, before borrowing those of J.W Marriott to join Albane Cléret’s inevitable rooftop and celebrate the screening in complete confidentiality. Everything is celebrated on the Croisette, and although the night 1/12 did not fill the beaches, it bodes well for this new fortnight in the shade of palm trees.
