Design Miami/ Makes its Big Entrance in Paris at a Historical Venue

It’s not every day we have the opportunity to witness such a premiere. Following its successful editions in Basel and Miami, Design Miami is making its debut in Paris in a venue just as impressive as the fair. The prestigious international design fair has taken up residence at l’hôtel de Maisons, which was once the hotel of the Pozzo di Borgo family and the former residence of fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld. Nestled in the very heart of the Saint-Germain-des-Prés district, this 18th-century mansion is now home to Design Miami/ Paris, running from October 18th to 22nd. Its emblematic architecture will showcase the pieces of nearly 30 international galleries, which have curated a selection of works embodying the essence of both contemporary and historic design. Among the Parisian galleries we find familiar names such as Patrick Seguin, Mitterrand, Downtown-Laffanour and Kréo, as well as a new generation of galleries that are taking their first steps in the design field, like Ketabi Bourdet and Desprez Brehet. From across the Atlantic, we find New York galleries such as Salon design94, Friedman Benda and Demisch Danant, to name but a few.

Launched simultaneously with Paris + by Art Basel, this premiere is set to leave a lasting impression. During the opening night, we had the pleasure of meeting Samuel Ross, Craig Robins, Urs Fischer, Pharrell Williams, Victoria Wilmotte and Sarah Andelman, to name but a few.
