Art Paris opens 23rd edition at Grand Palais Éphémère
From September 9 to 12, 2021, Art Paris opens the doors to its 23rd edition. The famous contemporary and modern art fair, initially held in April, has a brand new venue this year: the Grand Palais Éphémère, a spectacular building designed by architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte on the Champ de Mars. This new edition is all the more exceptional in that nearly half of the participating galleries are newcomers. Among them, many major galleries, some of which are also making a comeback: Almine Rech, kamel mennour, Continua, frank elbaz, the Perrotin gallery or Thaddaeus Ropac. This year’s guest curator of the fair, Hervé Mikaeloff, delivers his view on the French art scene with the “Portrait and figuration”, while the sector called “Promises” highlights international emerging artists. Art Paris has no less than 140 participating galleries, with a total of 20 countries represented, making it one of the major events in contemporary art today.
