Among the cities contending for the precious title of art capital, Paris remains at the top. Paris Art Week, the city’s annual event devoted to design and contemporary art, confirms this further. The most prestigious art fairs in the world find their way into a tightly-packed calendar: Paris Art Basel, beneath the magnificent glass roof of the Grand Palais, Moderne Art Fair, in the heart of the Champs-Élysées, and Design Miami Paris, another major event for those with an appreciation of beauty. Those on the lookout for something more alternative will also find their spot at le Grand Garage Haussman, which is the temporary home to Offscreen, and located just a stone’s throw from Paris International, another event not to miss.

Galleries also take part in this exciting celebration of creativity and take up the opportunity to unveil exhibitions featuring exceptional artists such as Takashi Murakami at Galerie Perrotin and Dhewadi Hadjab at Kamel Mennour. Not to forget museums, foundations, and other established institutions. The Palais de Tokyo hosts a solo show by Malala Andrialavidrazana, the Fondation Cartier offers a major retrospective on the work of Olga de Amaral, and Reiffers Art Centre welcomes us to discover the work of French artist Tarek Lakjrissi and his mentor Ugo Rondinone. It’s an exhilarating week, with plenty of options for all art enthusiasts to indulge.
