The Secret Gallery of the Highly Select Club “Rideau” at Cannes
A newcomer to the Cannes Film Festival nightlife, the ephemeral and highly exclusive mini club “Rideau” has established itself as the place par excellence for all figures of the film, fashion and music industries to gather. The indisputable choice for an after, be that after one of the legendary parties at Albane’s or a film screening, the spot for late and unrestrained souls to hang out. Curated by creative bureau Talisman, the knack of the venue is based on its secrecy policy: no photos nor videos allowed, the location was communicated exclusively internally, and the musical programme was unknown, revealed only the next day via a cryptic Instagram post only stories. We’ve heard Yuksek, Agathe Mougin, Dorion, Polocorp, Hen Yanni, Cut Killer, Gustave Rudman and Marine Neuilly, danced to the DJ sets by LeAm & Eddie Megraoui, who also head up the venue’s programming. The concept is also, and above all, the story of a team: its creator Mael Buathier has brought together his former acolytes Michael Kimmoun, Big John and Eddie Megraoui, as well as Gary Gillet, to host the venue and welcome their guests as if they were at home. Behind this “rideau” (curtain in English), away from prying eyes, in this exclusive parties, dancing to an eclectic mix of music genres, we caught a glimpse of James Franco, Charlie XCX, Emmanuelle Béart, Zaho de Sagazan, Justice, Camille Cottin, Raphaël Quenard, Alton Mason, Vicky Krieps, Charlotte Casiraghi, Vincent Lindon, Edgar Ramirez, Gaspard Noé, Jean-Claude Vandamme, Julien Granel, Soso Maness and many more.
