Villa Noailles Celebrates its Centenary with “Ressuciter la Rose”
The Villa Noailles, a gem of modernity and architecture commissioned to architect Robert Mallet-Stevens by Charles and Marie-Laure de Noaille, is celebrating its 100th anniversary. Regarded as “An Unidentified Constructed Object” at the time, the building has become an endless source of inspiration. The Mediterranean breeze that has been gently swaying over it for a century is now blowing the candles of this celebration, which praises their 100 years of creation.
Born out of an idea by its director, Jean-Pierre Blanc, a musical creation titled “Ressuciter la Rose” (Resurrecting the Rose) was performed this weekend to mark the anniversary year. The initiative was carried out in partnership with the Opéra de Toulon Provence Méditerranée and thanks to the support of Aline Foriel-Destezet and Chanel, a major sponsor of the Centenary. The mise-en-scène of this three-act piece was entrusted to Vincent Huguet, who worked alongside Raphaël Lucas, composer and musical director, and Simon Johannin, who was in charge of the script.
All performances were driven by the shared wish to celebrate artistic creation and pay tribute to Marie-Laure and Charles de Noailles.
Among the enthusiastic crowd in attendance, we saw Eddy de Pretto, Charles de Vilmorin, Elodie Bouchez, François Halard, Aline Asmar d’Amman, Carlo Perrone, Pierre Yovanovitch, Laurence Delamare, Coralie Gauthier, Karim Zeriahen, Nathalie Lété…
