Vitelli X Consinee, Cashmere has never been so Sustainable

The new collaboration “Vitelli x Consinee: The Next Regeneration” explores the infinite nuances of creative hybridization. Following the success of last season’s “Cashmere Trail” collaboration, presented at Pitti Uomo and accompanied by a documentary on the journey of cashmere fibers from the prairies of Inner Mongolia to the Consinee factories in Ningbo, Creative Director Mauro Simionato now delves into how we perceive the idea of “well-made” and how this can expand towards a sustainable future in fashion.

The result of this ethical partnership is summarized, during the Pitti Uomo days in Florence, in a spectacular project that explores themes dear to Chinese culture such as “harmony” and “cultural heritage” through the eyes of a designer from another country. Simionato blurs the boundaries between the installation and the space it occupies, presenting a polyphonic narrative inspired by the arts and crafts of ancient Ningbo, in the Chinese province of Zhejiang, with a focus on the artistic heritage of the Northern Song dynasty.

Within the Vitelli x Consinee exhibition at the Fortezza da Basso, a new film directed by Simionato himself will be presented, showing the entire process of creating the “most sustainable cashmere yarn”. Not only that. To further enrich the experience with technology, a special collection of “Vitelli classics” generated by artificial intelligence will also be exhibited virtually alongside the physical collection. It is the first time that a fashion brand has teamed up with a yarn producer to create a series of cashmere yarns entirely spun from waste fibers.
