It all began back in 2010 at the XX concert in Los Angeles. Rachel Mansur lives in L.A., Floriana Gavriel in Berlin. Rachel Mansur studied textile design at the Rhode Island School of Design and Floriana Gavriel studied fashion design at the University of the Arts in Bremen, Germany. They dance next to each other, smile at each other and make friends. A “friendly” love at first sight that will take the form of a will to found a brand in their style. Discreet, without a logo, sharp and responsible, Mansur Gavriel becomes the darling of the cool crowd. Anchored in its time, the label feels comfortable with the idea of collaboration, as long as one shares the same eco values. In this Veja collaboration, made of organic cotton, the vulcanized sole is composed of 65% recycled materials. The shoe is produced from rice waste, rubber from the Amazon rainforest and recycled rubber. The upper hill is made of leather from farms in southern Brazil, produced without the use of chromium, heavy metals or dangerous acids. Colorful, gender-neutral, chic and easy, these shoes simply have it all.
