Thonet x Hipsters Hotel: Tradition and Design Meet in Thessaloniki

Gebrüder Thonet Vienna once again highlights its international vision and talent for collaborating with forward-thinking hotels, bringing its signature spirit and iconic pieces to the Hipsters Hotel, a new design destination in the heart of Thessaloniki, Greece. Located in a neoclassical building designed by Jacques Moshe in 1925, the hotel reinterprets hospitality with a contemporary touch, skillfully blending industrial architecture, art, and bold furnishings.

Each of the 17 rooms, with unique concepts, features furniture by celebrated designers such as Jean Prouvé, Verner Panton, GamFratesi, and of course Michael Thonet. Chairs like the timeless N.14 from 1860, the modern N.0 by Front, and the Morris chair by GamFratesi add authenticity and character. In the café-bar area, Martino Gamper’s Post Mundus chair—a contemporary reinterpretation of the classic bentwood archetype—perfectly complements the industrial interiors. With the Hipsters Hotel, Gebrüder Thonet Vienna once more proves how tradition and innovation can elegantly merge to create spaces full of personality.
