The Mark x Assouline: New York Glamour Lands in Milan’s Streets

The Mark Hotel, New York’s most luxurious address, teams up with Assouline to bring a slice of Upper East Side glamour straight to Milan. The occasion is the launch of The Mark, the new coffee table book penned by New York Times best-selling author Derek C. Blasberg. To celebrate, from today to 17 December, the iconic Civic Giardini newsstand will transform into an immersive homage to the legendary hotel.

Reimagined in 2009 by interior designer Jacques Grange, The Mark blends historic heritage with contemporary sophistication. Grange’s French mastery permeates the lobby and all 153 rooms, enriched by bespoke creations from Karl Lagerfeld, Guy de Rougemont, Paul Mathieu and Mattia Bonetti—an international constellation of artisans summoned to elevate the hotel’s identity.
Now, that unmistakable visual language lands in Milan: bold graphics, curated displays, and the first chance to discover Assouline’s new volume. More than a pop-up, the takeover turns the newsstand into a miniature embassy of New York style—celebrating design, craftsmanship, and the cosmopolitan spirit that defines The Mark.
