Soho House Stockholm x Cecconi’s: The Local Church

Every opening is an experience. In its nearly 30 years of existence, Soho House has consistently made each one of its new locations a nightmare for hoteliers. Their latest idea? A converted church in Stockholm. Because we are talking about nothing less than a Soho House…This concept of a hotel that functions like a private club and, needless to say, has a real knack for finding and setting up in the most unexpected places. Nick Jones is the mind behind this idea, an Englishman who discovered, a bit by chance, the hotel business in the 80s. After having frequented a fair amount of luxurious establishments, he sensed that the times were changing and decided to open a restaurant in London with a back door leading to a room reserved for his friends and best customers. And so the idea of a private club was born. A refreshing version of the gentlemen’s club, Soho House recruits from the creative community. Today’s recipe is still the same, a membership subscription by co-option ar around 1800€ gives access to all the establishments of the group. Beautifully decorated, international cuisine, mixology and a lively bar have convinced a fairly loyal clientele.
