Sergio Tacchini x Union Los Angeles : the Second Life of Tennis

Tennis is making, especially through vintage, a pretty amazing comeback. . Instagram accounts are swarming about it and we no longer count fashion’s takeover of anything bound to sporting esthetics. And the game is far from over. The older among you may recall young John McEnroe, who at Wimbledon in 1981, jumped like a cat to intercept Bjorn Borg’s passing shots. His sponsor at the time: Sergio Tacchini! With this recent craze for vintage tennis, Union Los Angeles’s boutique and label have joined forces to design a line that sits somewhere in between sportswear and streetwear. The collaboration was driven by the long-standing friendship between Union owner Chris Gibbs and Sergio Tacchini creative director Sung Choi (who created Union’s original “Frontman” iconography) and revisits traditional Tacchini silhouettes with Union’s fashion-forward cues. ST and Union also orchestrated a campaign shot by Aidan Cullen, featuring Brock Korsan and managing partner of No Vacancy Inn and SVP A&R for Warner Records Brocky Marciano. Brother Hank Korsan who works both a DJ and a model was also part of the campaign.
