Does upcycling sound familiar? Just like the fashion, watchmaking and furniture industries, car manufacturers are constantly revisiting their heritage, in more or less automatic ways. In this vein, Renault has been launching several creative projects revisiting its rich heritage since 2021. They are mainly based on emblematic models that have become part of popular culture, such as the R5 and the 4L. These initiatives highlight the brand’s ability to combine tradition, design and innovation, all while offering innovative designers the perfect field to give free rein to their creativity. For its latest project, Renault has summoned renowned and cutting-edge designer ORA-ÏTO, who has been entrusted with the responsibility of reimagining the Renault 17. This bespoke version, the R17 Electric Restomod, offers a bold and modern alliance, bringing this historic Renault coupé back to life.
