It sure takes a strong will to transform these plastic bottles into a collection of polo shirts. While the fashion industry slowly becomes aware of its environmental impact, there are still only a few brands with a fully sustainable production process. Ralph Laurent has been working with First Mile, a company that spent the last fifteen years specializing in repurposing plastic bottles into weaving thread. This capsule collection was designed using the First Mile thread, and Ralph Lauren has since then committed to reduce water consumption from 20% as well as only using recyclable packaging as from 2025. For a few years now, the Ralph Lauren polo shirt has been the emblem of philanthropic and social engagements from the brand. It allowed to raise funds for the medical research against breast cancer as well as patient care via the Pink Pony Fund. Ralph Laurent also participated in helping victims of natural disasters, as well as supporting initiatives in favor of the LGBTQIA+ community.
