Raf Simons x Kvadrat: Fashion Show-like Toiletries

The collaboration between Raf Simons and Kvadrat begins a new chapter. This time, the occasion is the launch of the second edition of the revolutionary Shaker Sistem, an innovative storage system for household objects designed by Prada’s co-creative director. The inspiration? Again, it comes from the traditional Shaker-style peg rails: long wooden bars with a single row of pegs on which everything from brooms to clothes were hung. The purpose? To keep rooms in perfect order. However, while Collection 1 focused on objects for the living room and entrance hall, this new Collection 2 delves into the world of bathrooms. And so we find slippers, multipurpose clutch bags and the ideal version of the toiletry bag according to “Simons thought”, made of Vidar 4. In this collection, the Belgian designer has decided to prioritise function over aesthetics. Reminiscent of his fashion designs, he is now found exploring special materials such as terry cotton for bathrobes and beach towels, and soft cashmere with a hand-crumpled surface for blankets and double-sided pillows. Collection 2 will be launched at Copenhagen Fashion Week on January 31.
