Prada Foundation x Venice 82: A New Film Fund for Cinema is Born

Fondazione Prada makes its debut at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival with the launch of the Fondazione Prada Film Fund, scheduled for September 1st at 5:30 pm at the Spazio Incontri – Venice Production Bridge, Hotel Excelsior. The initiative aims to support films of high artistic value, consolidating the institution’s two-decade-long commitment to cinema. Each year, a jury will select between ten and twelve feature film projects, without restrictions of geography or genre, focusing exclusively on quality, originality, and vision.

As Miuccia Prada states: “Cinema is for us a laboratory of ideas and an important cultural training tool. With the Fund we want to broaden the dialogue with contemporary creation and experimentation.” The Film Fund has been developed by Paolo Moretti, curator of Fondazione Prada’s Cinema Godard and a leading voice in the festival world, in collaboration with Rebecca De Pas, international programmer and consultant. Together, they shape a platform that seeks to strengthen the freedom of auteur cinema while fostering new global connections between production and experimentation.
