Piaget x Polo 79: The Roots of Excellence

Yves Piaget, a renowned French luxury watchmaker and jeweller, lived through the 1970s like a king. The brand bearing his name enjoys unparalleled commercial success today, launching one piece after another. He had a knack for understanding what people wanted even before they knew it themselves. The Polo line, launched in 1979, embodies this success. It is a wristwatch in the purest sense, with a marvellously integrated bracelet and quartz movement – the whim back then. The sporty chic watch par excellence,  which screamed modernity and was to be worn in all circumstances. In the following decades, however, the brand went through a slight hiccup. In the wake of the resurgence of 70’s icons, Piaget has finally decided this year to bring back the famous Polo, bearing its original launch year: 79. Now equipped with a sublime bespoke micro-rotor automatic movement, this new version ticks all the boxes and makes wearing 200g of yellow gold on your wrist less of an outrageous thought. A return to the roots of excellence, for 80K…
