Ozwald Boateng x Poltrona Frau, a home collection that glorifies diversity

“Culture and Craft” is the first collection involving the Italian design brand Poltrona Frau and the designer Ozwald Boateng. The series includes seating, accessories, fabrics and wallpapers for a new range of fabrics, furniture and home accessories. For the “Chester” line, Boateng created coverings for three versions: Classic Chester, Chester Line and Chester One. Warm tones of red, yellow, purple, green, black and blue are available, created by the designer for this covering. The “Vanity Fair” armchair “wears” a new so-called Tribal covering with a matte finish and features geometries inspired by ancestral African motifs. Finally, the “Beautilities” collection includes Boateng’s interpretation of home accessories: from the soft wool carpet to the cushions, from the wallpaper to the scented candle. The icing on the cake: the board game “Mancala”, very famous in Africa, revised and corrected by changing shapes and materials. “This collaboration was our way of pioneering a narrative that celebrates diversity in the world of high-end Italian design”, said Leonardo Allasia, Director of Global Marketing and Communications of the design brand. “We called the initiative Cultura e Artigianato which is the true essence of this partnership”. The “Culture and Craft” collection can be admired directly on the Poltrona Frau website but also at the Poltrona Frau flagship store in Fulham Road and in large Harrods warehouses in London (photo courtesy Poltrona Frau).
