The America’s Cup is coming (save the date: Saturday 12 October 2024) and Omega is collaborating with the New Zealand team Emirates Team New Zealand by signing a special edition of its iconic Seamaster Planet Ocean. The new Seamaster Planet Ocean Deep Black Emirates Team New Zealand Edition, the result of a more than thirty-year partnership between Omega and ETNZ, mixes the technical performance of the Swiss brand with the authority of the reigning champions of the oldest sailing competition in the world . The result is a design inspired by sailing and the colors of the New Zealand team. Technically, the Seamaster Planet Ocean Deep Black ETNZ features a 45.5mm case in black ceramic, a high-tech material capable of guaranteeing resistance, being anti-allergic and maintaining the its intense black color over time. The button rings, the helium valve and the Omega logo on the crown also reflect the distinctive color of the Kiwi team. To make this superwatch even more exclusive, Omega has then provided an ad hoc packaging which obviously recalls the theme of the America’s Cup: the watch, available at Omega boutiques and authorized retailers starting from October 2023 at 14,900 euros, is in fact delivered inside a special box inspired by the logo of the New Zealand team, with the classic silver leaf on a black background that stands out on the box. Will this amazing watch bring luck to the super team led by skipper Peter Burling? By Germano D’Acquisto
