When two benchmarks of excellence like Ferrari and Montblanc join forces, the end product is bound to be iconic. This is indeed the case with the new Montblanc Ferrari Stilema SP3, a limited edition fountain pen that signs the latest chapter of the partnership between the German manufacturer and the House of the Prancing Horse. Only 599 examples of this writing machine have been produced, making it almost as coveted as the car whose lines inspired it, the Daytona SP3. Created in close collaboration with Flavio Manzoni, Ferrari’s Chief Design Officer, this project is a tribute to Ferrari’s DNA, which is embodied in its proportions, surfaces and aerodynamics. Both the cap and the body of the Montblanc Ferrari Stilema SP3 are crafted from a highly premium single material: lightweight titanium. And if its elegant lines are reminiscent of the car’s silhouette, its inside reveals another marvel created by Montblanc: a nib in solid Au750 white gold with the initials “SP3” engraved on it. “Transferring the proportions and fluidity of the Ferrari Daytona SP3 into a writing instrument without compromising the writer’s experience was a fascinating design challenge,” explained Flavio Manzoni.
