Mercedes Benz x Michael Sailstorfer: Roots and Wings

To give wings to this new project, Mercedes has returned to its very roots. The idea? To create an Art Car from the recycled bodywork of a Sedan from the 80s, using the legendary C111 as inspiration. This is the initiative of German artist Michael Sailsorter, who presented the artwork at the 38th International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Accessories – Hyères. By entering the long tradition of Art Cars, Mercedes –  already a sponsor of many Fashion Week events – takes a step further in its relationship with the creative field and joins its Munich-based cousin BMW, a specialist in this field. They aren’t the only ones, as Porsche is also exploring this new arena, which proves that the automotive sector is increasingly attracted by a trend widely exploited by the fashion industry. Needless to say, we’re delighted with this craze.
