Memphis X Saint Laurent : 40 years in the making

Created in the early 1980s by the Italian architect Ettore Sottsass, the Memphis Group came about as a counterpart to 1950s Bauhaus. Bored by this Germanic rigor, Sottsass gathered around him a group of artists looking for a new definition of design – more colorful, poetic and geometric. To celebrate their disruptive vision, Anthony Vaccarello chose to feature in his Saint-Honoré boutique a collection of objects and artworks from this era. Set up like a permanent exhibition (on view until June 23rd), this curation resonates with a ready-to-wear collection of brand new hoodies, dresses, shirts, and sneakers…
