Although the vibe is completely different, something about this place is reminiscent of Wes Anderson’s Grand Budapest Hotel. Currently in pre-opening phase and located two hours from Bangkok, Maison Mystique boasts just 22 rooms divided into four narrative universes: Botanical Obscura, Nocturnal Curiosities, Siren Reverie and Celestial Lullaby. The lobby and lounge areas are designed to match these themes: there is the Botanist’s Bible, where guests can enjoy their tea, but also the Bar Mystère, the Emerald Library Bar, and the Vivarium Dining Room with its floral ceiling. The Hall of Mystery and its emerald marble staircase, the Garden Hall inspired by orangery gardens, the Hall of Starry Night and the refined Emerald Library (which doubles as a bar in the evening) round out this anachronistic décor infused with Ottoman touches, reminding us of a fantasy world. With its exceptional maze garden and meticulously planned vegetable garden surrounded by lush vegetation, this space-time capsule is our favourite discovery of the new year.
