This is undoubtedly the collaboration that did Louis Vuitton the most good. Twenty years ago, artistic director Marc Jacobs approached the Japanese artist for a collaboration, giving him free rein. His pop and colourful universe transformed the house’s iconic bags such as the Speedy, bringing a flamboyant twist. This first opus paved the way for Louis Vuitton to drastically rejuvenate its audience. Twenty years later, for the re-edition of this mythical capsule, Takashi Murakami once again brings his signature flowers, the famous Panda and his creatures from planet 66, while painting the iconic Monogram in kawaii hues. Set off by the splendid Zendaya, it’s the best news of the new year.
