Loro Piana x Dimoremilano: a Dream of Style Woven in Velvet and Silence at MDW 25

It is quite possibly the most seductive project of the entire 2025 Design Week. Loro Piana Interiors and Dimoremilano come together for an immersive and refined installation in the evocative setting of the Cortile della Seta, the Milanese headquarters of Loro Piana. The title is as poetic as it is suggestive: La Prima Notte di Quiete—an installation that blends cinema, memory, and the art of living.

Crossing the threshold, visitors find themselves in the foyer of an elegant vintage cinema: red velvet, soft lighting, precious furnishings. From here, one enters the “Loro Piana home,” a 1970s–80s-style apartment conceived by Dimorestudio as a film to be experienced. Each room—from the bedroom to the dining area, from the garden to the bathroom—tells a story, evokes a suspension. Materials like cashmere, wool, mohair, glass, and steel are the true protagonists, striking a perfect balance between comfort and beauty.

The furnishings—from the new Quarona poufs to the round Varallo bed—are dressed in the maison’s signature fabrics, playing between art, design, and memory. Light becomes narrative, and sounds—a soft rain, a distant piano—transform the space into a dreamlike refuge. The tension between silence and movement runs through the project, which reflects on the boundary between reality and cinematic suggestion. Until April 13, La Prima Notte di Quiete promises an emotional journey into the heart of Italian design.
