This story about Dyson and carpets has nothing to do with vacuuming. This is a story about inspiration. Deirdre Dyson might be the wife of the founder of the eponymous brand, but she is above all an artist who makes sublime carpets. She even sells them in her gallery in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris. Just like her husband who invented a product you never knew you needed that much, Deirdre started making her own carpets about twenty years ago because she couldn’t find any suitable designs for her taste. With sourcing being a big issue, Deirdre has her patterns made in a mix of Chinese silk and Tibetan wool. A coffee table, a glass, an armchair… She plays with the transparency caused by everyday objects to deflect the curves and mix the nuances.
