La Bastide de Saint-Tropez x Jessica Barouch: returning to a lost paradise

Saint Tropez is an ever-changing destination for any French person. Adored one day, scorned the next, the place that constantly delights tourists from all over the world, seeks to reconnect with the heart of a chic French clientele. To do so, it is trying to summon its time, or rather its glory years, somewhere between Pompidou and Giscard d’Estaing, as soon as possible. After the successful revival of the Hotel de La Ponche, it is now time for the Bastide to get a chic revamp. For this purpose, the establishment has hired the services of Jessica Barouch, interior designer and gallery owner, who not only knows the destination like the back of her hand, but also masters its distant codes. Located in the well-known area of the Sainte Anne chapel, a stone’s throw from the village, La Bastide is an island of calm and freshness. The garden, magnified by the architect, takes on a Californian look, while the interior is bathed in ancestral materials: ceramics, ropes, terracotta, glassware, linen and cotton add a welcome note of authenticity and simplicity. Let’s hope that day after day, with the help of similar projects, the destination will revive this sharp point of chic that had seemed quite rounded lately!
