Jean Paul Gaultier’s Cyber Collection & Collab with La Manso

“Cyber” is the latest ready-to-wear collection by Jean-Paul Gaultier that everyone wishes to get hold of. Inspired by the House’s iconic archives from the nineties, this revival collection takes us into the future of cyberwear and is topped off with a jewellery line created in collaboration with Spanish brand La Manso. A strong reference to the fashion shows “Les Amazones”, autumn-winter 1995-96, and “Cyberbaba”, spring-summer 1996, “Cyber” is a mixture of everyday garments with dramatic extravagance. The classic polka dot print is the unmistakable protagonist of this capsule collection. Evoking Victor Vasarely’s pop artworks, polka dots are here revamped in a flashy neon palette that coats a series of secondary garments such as one-piece jumpsuits and micro bikinis. Jean Paul Gaultier’s classic ’90s military silhouette returns in wool trousers, bomber jackets and suit jackets contrasting with maxi parkas and looser, relaxed pants. Knitwear and sweaters are the star cuts of the ‘Cyberbaba’ collection, now surgically cut by laser. The announcing campaign, shot by photographer and art director TORSO, features 11 faces chosen from an open casting, and the pieces resulting from this very first collaboration between Jean Paul Gaultier and Adriana Manso, founder of La Manso.
