Teaming up with the Opéra Garnier, J.M. Weston unveiled a capsule collection to celebrate the 150th anniversary of this glorious institution. Olivier Saillard’s latest initiative comes in the wake of his work with 3.Paradis and Roland Garros, and is part of a wider strategy to expand the company’s eveningwear range. The designs are inspired by emblematic symbols of the opera. The line includes black velvet loafers embroidered with a golden sun representing Louis XIV, and another model adorned with a golden lyre, reminiscent of Charles Garnier’s architectural motifs. The last item is a pair of patent calf leather Oxford shoes that comes with exclusive shoetrees and dust bags embossed with the name of the Palais Garnier. There’s nothing dancers value more than their feet: surely they deserve the nicest apparel.
