While Paris Fashion Week may still be far, this first Sunday of December saw the debut of a label worthy of a place in the prestigious official fashion calendar. By playing with volumes and materials, just like the presentation space, the Maison Boétiea—a retro-futuristic room in the heart of the French capital—the creator behind JASPÄR delivered an ode to curiosity and imagination. In his inaugural collection, Toma asserts his identity by presenting classic silhouettes imbued with playful and dynamic twists. Without neglecting the foundational principles of tailoring, the young designer shows that he’s not afraid to experiment and reinvent the classics. Whether through the garments themselves or the presentation mode, which blurred the lines between fashion show and performance, JASPÄR is definitely on our radar.
