Porsches or Land Rovers aren’t the only cars that can be ‘restomodded’ – meaning, to be restored with a fashionable eye. Living proof was just brought by the heritage department at Hyundai in the form of a model known as ‘Grandeur’. Back in 1986, this sculptural sedan was already a rebadged version of Mitsubishi’s ‘Debonair’ model. At the time, France was the epitome of chic, and carmakers often used French words to establish their status. Eager to connect the Hyundai heritage with their future projects, the design office chose to revamp this 1980s masterpiece. This car has is all: LED lights, hubcaps, electric drive, huge screens with 18 speakers, brand new seats, great options (such as a case for your watch) complete with aero gear shifters… Absolutely nothing was left to chance here and we have to admit the result is quite tantalizing.
