Some hotels announce their presence with long and well-kept aisles, and elaborate signs. Cap Menorca Hotel is the complete opposite as the entrance looks more like a forgotten path than the reception of a hotel complex. Rocky and lined with centuries-old olive trees, the path seems to unveil the theme of a weekend where we let ourselves be surrounded by the local indolence. Yet, the cottages at the end of the alley overlook the Mediterranean sea and they are by no means neglected. Spread over 30 hectares are 15 suites, each with their own garden and pool, and a sophisticated decoration made by local artisans. The on-site restaurant serves breakfast by the central saltwater pool and dinner at the shared table or in the villa, offering a seasonal menu based on fresh ingredients. For the sporty ones, the complex has direct access to the Cami de Cavalls hiking trail which circles the island for some 30 kilometres, while a beautiful, typically Mediterranean boat is available for the day. Enchanting.
