With the arrival of a dozen or so new brands each year, the watch market grows steadily. Needless to say, all that glitters is not gold, yet this profusion has allowed the emergence of a few precious nuggets. This is the case of Hegid, whose starting idea is quite innovative: you buy a movement that can take shape in four different case models. While established manufacturers still market interchangeable wristbands as a cutting-edge feature, Hegid offers Horlogerie ahead of its time. Good driving ideas and a reasonable price have thus allowed this new manufacturer not only to break through, but to thrive. What is more, the French start-up has also called the eye of Hervet – a manufacturer whose unique 70s space touch we have already praised – and has teamed up, to propose this “Celeste” watch. Retro futuristic, with just the right proportions and robust automatic movement, this piece blends the universes of both brands. For less than 4000€, it seems to be a wise choice for pop culture fans.
