George Bamford x Girard-Perregaux: The 1960s Deep Diver Returns in 350 One-of-a-Kind Pieces

Girard-Perregaux and George Bamford: two names that, in the world of watchmaking, evoke tradition and innovation. From this meeting comes a new reinterpretation of the Deep Diver, a historic diving model from the 1960s, now re-released in a limited edition of 350 pieces. The collaboration with Bamford Watch Department, known for its bold and unconventional vision, marks a new chapter in Girard-Perregaux’s Legacy Editions collection, dedicated to the rebirth of iconic models from the past.

The new Deep Diver combines vintage aesthetics with modern technique: a cushion case in grade 5 titanium, water resistance up to 200 meters and a GP03300 manufacture movement, finished to the highest Swiss standards. The dial plays with blue, orange and white tones, faithfully reproducing the iconic look of 1971, while the 14-sided bezel anticipates the silhouette of the Laureato. The details that make the difference are not lacking: anti-reflective sapphire crystal, case back with blue porthole decorated with the trident, vintage Girard-Perregaux logo and Bamford signature. The result? A watch that does not look to the past with nostalgia, but reinterprets it with respect and contemporary style.
