Frab’s x French Fries, the Indie Mag Takes Over the Iconic Store

On one side, there’s French Fries, the independent magazine that passionately aims to always stay outside the box, free from any conformism and proudly independent; on the other, there’s Frab’s, a bold store and Milanese portal specialized in selling independent and collectible magazines, which considers magazines to be ‘an act of resistance in a historical time that elevates ignorance as a value.’ These two realities, both rebellious and sophisticated at the same time, have come together to create a truly special collaboration.

On September 17, for the launch of the latest issue of French Fries (Fall/Winter 2024), the windows of the space on Via Sirtori were literally taken over by the (eight) covers of the indie mag, whose central theme is The Big Other, in Lacanian terms. The magazine, much like a coffee table book, includes interviews and in-depth explorations of art, fashion, design, literature, music, and culture in general, along with numerous fashion editorials that are as disorienting as they are refined, signed by some of the most talented contemporary photographers.

‘A magazine today must represent an object filled with quality content,’ say those at Frab’s. ‘But it must also be overflowing with attention to design and graphic details for the pleasure of the eye.’ And French Fries seems to fit perfectly within this vision
