Still having doubts about the power of Instagram? Well, this story might change your mind. American artist Joshua Vides has been working for years with a black felt pen, giving a pop vibe to everything he touches. Silvia Fendi discovered his work on the popular social network and offered him to collaborate on a collection. The result? Vides’ freehand black and white drawings underline the contours of the clothes, the bags and sunglasses. This street-style inspired collection counts bermudas, bucket hats and silk scarves and smoothly goes from day to night with sexy dresses worn under oversize bomber jackets. Titled ‘California Sky’, the collection is not an ode to the region’s blue sky, rather a nod to the duality between black and white the artist loves to play with. You might be wondering if the iconic Baguette and Peekaboo bags are featured in the collection. The answer is ‘yes’, and so is Fendi’s newest object of desire: the Roma Shopper.
