Have you ever heard of Nunatsiavut? It is an autonomous area claimed by the Inuit in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. You can already feel the shivers. Billy Gauthier is a native of this region, a territory where nature is as splendorous as one can fathom. As a committed artist, Billy has decided to create sculptures from materials supplied by this very nature, whether mineral, vegetable or animal: stone, ivory, bone, antlers, tendons… His sculptures explore Inuit cosmologies, contemporary social issues and the crucial importance of proper land and water management. For this shoot, he is wearing a thick jacket by Fay, a brand for which he is one of the ambassadors. Featuring its signature 4 hooks, inspired by American firefighters’ firewalls, and its Native American motifs, it is instantly recognizable and the perfect blend of city and country, chic and casual. Its only flaw: its popularity makes it hard to get hold of!
