With snow becoming increasingly scarce, new hotel establishments are focusing on the resorts at high altitude. After Verbier in Switzerland, the highly coveted Experimental group is investing in the Val-d’Isère resort in the Vanoise massif, opening its second address in the mountains. With sophisticated decor by Dorothée Meilichzon, a well-designed swimming pool, a perfect SPA and high-end cuisine, the group’s regular guests certainly won’t be dissatisfied. Beware: at Christmas, the sun sets quite early in the valley, casting Val d’Isère into shadow.
