EBBA x Benni Allan: Resounding Beauty

We’d like to live in it. Benni Allan’s house, who gave EBBA its name, serves both as a personal residence and an experimental design “live-come-showspace”. Arranged around a large open-plan kitchen whose functional aspects are concealed, the space maintains a sense of calm through raw plaster surfaces and warm timber finishes. The main bedroom connects to the kitchen via a sliding door, and a study, which doubles as a workshop, is filled with discarded materials awaiting transformation. The extensive use of Douglas fir (walls, floors, joinery) highlights Allan’s interest for cost-effective and durable materials and underscores the apartment’s experimental quality. Allan’s passion for furniture and music appears obvious thanks to custom-designed pieces such as a stacked coffee table, part of a new collection under development with EBBA, as well as a Douglas fir speaker, created in collaboration with Friendly Pressure and Our Department.
