Multidisciplinary artist Thia-Thuy Nguyen has revisited one of the most emblematic pieces of the French couture Maison, transforming it into an ethereal sculpture. This new artwork, created in collaboration with Dior Couture, is made of a quartz base reminiscent of the bag’s original silhouette. To balance the rigidity of the precious stone, the artist hand-fixed tiny quartz crystals collected from quarries in Vietnam to create a cloud-like pattern. An interplay of light, whose reflection serpents through the quartz crystals, makes this piece a breathtaking jewel.
