Dior collaborates with Gran Turismo and ventures into the digital universe. The popular racing video game will feature exclusive new racing gear developed by Dior that can be applied to both drivers’ avatars and a customised classic car. The racing overall comes in shades of yellow and grey and pays homage to Christian Dior’s first fashion show, held in February 1947, by incorporating a commemorative number ‘47’ in the design. Matching gloves and shoes complete the set, the latter being a reinterpretation of the Diorizon model. Sponsors and the CD Diamond emblem are integrated into all pieces, reviving logos from the sixties and seventies. The Dior Oblique, created in 1967 by then-creative director Marc Bohan, stands out on the helmet visor in shades of blue and grey. But if before this was only dedicated to the world of gaming racing, today Dior brings to life the virtual capsule creations designed by Kim Jones for Gran Turismo 7.
