Dior x Caracalla Festival, Fashion Flirts with Dance

Maison Dior flirts with dance on the occasion of the Caracalla Festival 2024 in Rome. The show, scheduled for July 9 and 10, is called Le notti di Dior and officially inaugurates the Roman festival. Eleonora Abbagnato will perform on stage with guest Friedemann Vogel, along with étoiles Alessandra Amato, Rebecca Bianchi, and Alessio Rezza, principal dancers Marianna Suriano, Claudio Cocino, and Michele Satriano, as well as soloists and the Corps de Ballet of the Rome Opera House. All will be wearing creations designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri of Maison Dior. A refined explosion of handmade drapery and pleats reveals their delicacy on capes and dresses. Then there are lace inlays, myriad beads, and color nuances, with hand-painted costumes designed to look like true trompe l’oeil. These are all examples of the excellence of the creative (and artisanal) vision of the French Maison and its Italian Artistic Director, creating spectacular effects. The program of the show, which blends ballet with music and fashion, includes Nuit dansée by Giorgio Mancini and Nuit romaine by Angelin Preljocaj, arriving in Rome after triumphant tours at the Palais des Congrès in Paris and the Dubai Opera (photo: Fabrizio Sansoni).
