Dimorestudio x Trattoria del Ciumbia, food and design flirt in Milan

A classic Milanese osteria with a contemporary twist. This is the concept of the new Trattoria del Ciumbia, with a total of 100 seats, open at number 32 Via Fiori Chiari in the Brera district. The defining feature of the restaurant, the third one for the TSF Holding restaurant group, is the architectural and interior design project curated by Dimorestudio. The studio founded by Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran has traveled back in time to the 1960s, drawing inspiration from the traditional venues in the historic district frequented by artists like Piero Manzoni, Nanda Vigo, and Agostino Bonalumi. Warm and dynamic spaces where ideas were born that would forever change contemporary art. The tour starts on the ground floor, where the simplicity of the walls is interrupted by retro-style newspaper racks, coat hooks, a series of watercolors depicting Italian rationalist architecture from the 1930s, and original accessories signed by Dimoremilano, such as the serigraphed mirror appliques Pietro. A separate private room then accommodates up to 10 diners on original Carimate chairs by Vico Magistretti arranged around a retro glass table by Dimoremilano, illuminated by Splugen Bräu lamps from Flos designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni. In the basement, an intimate private club lounge hosts small private events for post-dinner drinks for up to 50 people, dominated by brown carpeting and deep blue satin wall hangings. And the gastronomic proposal? It’s curated by Chef Paolo Rollini and is a tribute to Lombard tradition. In short, a trattoria in perfect “Milanese style” where architecture, design, and cuisine become one. By Germano D’Acquisto
