We may talk a lot about “retrofitting” (the process of converting vintage cars into electric engines), but it’s only because there’s quite a few virtues to it. Apart from reducing gas emission, this process also improves two features that tend to be lacking in the original vehicles : torque and reliability. David Lorenz has discovered this idea quite late, and like many, he thought it was incredible. Still Lorenz had to face a massive technical challenge. To design an electric car engine has nothing of an easy task, but it is even trickier to fit it in a 70-year-old car. Lorenz knew he could find what he was looking for on electric cars found at the junkyard. By taking off old Teslas everything he would need for his own cars, Lorenz designed marvellous vehicles alongside a great group of engineers. Jaguar XK 150 or Type E, Bentley S1, Roll’s… it’s a car lover’s dream, especially knowing they’re now performing like never before! Cherry on the cake: thanks to the Tesla braking system, these cars are not only safe to drive but also energy-saving. Well, this is definitely worth the €400,000 investment.
